About the Author: Jim Glendinning - arrived in the USA from Scotland in 1961 after graduating from Oxford University. For the next 30 years he worked on both sides of the Atlantic, mainly in tourism. As a tour guide and travel writer, he visited 118 countries before happening upon Alpine, Texas in 1992. He decided to stay and opened a bed & breakfast called The Corner House. He continues to write travel articles, runs tours into Mexico, and offers guide service in the Big Bend area.
